Save Jobs

Governor Schwarzenegger Stands Firm on
AVOIDING JOB CUTS

“With unemployment at an all time high, we should be doing everything we can to – keep jobs and create jobs – in California.” [Governor Schwarzenegger Press Release, 7/1/09]

The Governor is committed to a budget that does not make it more difficult to do business and create and maintain jobs in California. That’s why when the legislature sent to the Governor a bill – by a simple majority vote – that would have increased taxes by billions of dollars, the Governor vetoed it. That’s also why, when Overstock.com and other major online retailers threatened to cut ties and cut jobs in California due to the Legislature’s push to increase taxes, the Governor immediately pledged to vote “no” on any new taxes – and by doing so he helped save Californians’ jobs.
